Non flat models for 2D materials (e.g Graphene, MoS2…)

      Greetings everyone :)

Hope this message finds you well.

I want to simulate optical fibers coated with 2D materials (as a cladding) and the issue I am facing are concerning the 2D material models available in MODE's EME. These are material models suitable for flat surfaces, or at least volumes with small thickness and flat surfaces, whereas, I want a material suited for simple curved surfaces like rings and circles (the case for an optical fiber) with a relatively small range of thickness too (few atomic layers up to few tens of nanometers).

You can have more details about the models I am talking about here: (https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042244874-Graphene-surface-conductivity-material-model). There is the surface model and the equivalent volumetric model.

I was wondering if I can adapt these models in some way for the geometry I want (like try forcing in some sort the material model for my geometry even though it's explicitely stated in the article that the geomtry should be a flat structure) or create a material model from scratch for this circular geometries (maybe too complicated ? even though for e.g graphene nanotubes is something widely known and studied in the scientific community).

      Thanks for your help !

2D materials need surfaces in one of the three Cartisian planes, xy, xz and yz. If the coating is for the end surface of a fiber, it is ok:

If the coating is along the fiber length, unfortunately, no, currently.
