Non dimensional velocity in bends

      Hello everyone!

I want to plot the streamwise velocity in different plans at a 90° bend pipe as shown in figure 1 below. I get the nonnormalized velocity at the entrance of the bend by taken the Y-axis as the radial direction (figure 2), but for the other plans (30° 60° 90°) it doesn't work! I think I need to create a local coordinate system for each plan. Is it possible to do this in Fluent or CFD post?

      Any help, please!

      Best regards.

What variable are you attempting to non-dimensionalize and what is your scaling parameter here? Could you please clarify?

      thanks for your reply!
I wanted to get non-dimensionalize the axial velocity at different plans! I solved that by creating a local coordinate system at each plan.
      Regards.

The first & last planes align with x and z so that's easier. Otherwise you need to set the local cell zone axis up or use some trigonometry via a custom field function. I don't think Post has an automatic function for this, but don't know about Ensight.

I used the translate and the rotate options in Fluent to align my geometry with the plan that I want to plot my chart into it, then I export the point in a .excel file and compute my normalized velocity and r direction.
      Thank you!
