Node / Point Coordinate Information X Y Z

Is it possible to get coordinate information of individual nodes or of points added to the geometry in AIM?

I would like to look at the X-Y-Z coordinates of two points as well as the deflection at the same two points at the same time.  I can add a point and get the deflection for that point, but I can't figure out how to get the coordinates of the point.

Ideally this would be something that I could create in SpaceClaim and the query in AIM

      Suggestions?

      Hello Bryan Drummond

Let me check it and get back to you.

      Hello Bryan Drummond

Though there is no direct way to get the X-Y-Z coordinates of points as well as the deflection at the same time, you can first calculate the X-Y-Z coordinates of points in SpaceClaim. If you select any point, you can see its coordinates at the bottom. Refer below image.

Now, for the same point, calculate displacement result (in Results task of AIM)

in X, Y and Z direction. If you add these displacements values to the coordinate data obtained from Spaceclaim, you will get the XYZ coordinate value of the point at the deformed location.

Can I create a point in SpaceClaim and carry it directly over into AIM?  I tried that and wasn't successful, but there are at least two ways to create points and I may not have followed the correct procedure.

      Hello Bryan Drummond

You can split the edge and create a point at required location. For splitting edge, use Split tool and then select "Split Edge" option as shown below.

      Hello Everyone,

I made surface along my local coordinate at my 3d model in ANSYS workbench 2022 R1. I want to export normal stress data in my local coordinate. when i export normal stress data, it will obtain along global coordinate. But I want normal stress exported data in local x, y and z coordinates not along global coordinate.
