I'm simulating this geometry with 2 threaded steel wires:
It's meshed with tetrahedrons. I tried to model the contact with 2 MPC bonded contacts, but I got a message that this wasn't ideal, so I tried to use node merge instead. However, when I try this, I get a message:Â
"Mesh has elements with negative jacobian values. It might be due to axis specified for general Axisymmetric object under Symmetry Folder is cutting through the body. Please check results carefully".
However, I have no symmetry in this model.
Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

Hi
Node merge has most likely made some elements unsuitable for FE (hence Jacobian error).
If the geometry is just touching between them, and the wires are bonded then try shared topology. See below

All the best

Thank you, Erik.
