We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

New feature request : Attach an excel sheet in scdoc file

      Hello,

Actually, we can link an excel datasheet to group of settings to modify the geometry of the 3d model.

The incovenient is we have two separate files :

      • One *.scdoc file for the 3D model
      • One .xlsx (or .xls, .xslm, ect...) for the parameters and calculations.

It would have been very convenient to attach an excel datasheet into the scdoc file !

Can please someone forward this to the developpement team ?

      Best regards, Benjamin

      Hello Benjamin,

Can you please let us know where you are creating this parameters and calculations? Parameters can be created in SpaceClaim/Discovery so you won't need an excel to import these.

If you are bringing the parameters from other CAD there is bi-directional CAD connectivity option (additional license required) to import the parameters.

What calculations you will need to be imported?

      Regards,

      Devendra

      Hello,

In my company, we have modular parametric machines (f.e: height, length, width, ect…).

Machines have constraints, (f.e : length need to be a multiple of 400mm, pitch needs to be a multiple of 50, ect..)

I have created all driving dimensions to modelize my machine, and then use the excel plug-in to interract with an excel sheet.

In this datasheet, the user has just to enter the reference of the machine and all the driving dimensions are calculated in excel and then pilot the 3D model in spaceclaim.

So, at the end i have two separate files, one .scdoc and one .xls

So, what i ask is pretty simple, i want to have this excel document inside the scdoc.

      Is it more clear ?

      Best regards, Benjamin
