In section 5.1. Contact detection (ansys.com), there is a description of the neighboring distance for contact detection of polyhedral particles. However, details about some specific algorithms are considered proprietary information of the software's solver and are not made public. Therefore, the information available to users is that contained in the technical manual and related documentation.
