Hello,
Â
What is the negative values in Ansys stress results ?
If we said the positive stress value means tensile stress and the negative stress value means compressive stress, the negative sign is to describe the force direction.
Â
Q1: As in the photo, If we ignore the negative sign, which values are the minimum and maximum value?
Don't you think it has to be reciprocal in this case?
Â
Q2: Is there any way in Ansys to change the negative values to be positive?

Forum ModeratorYou are not looking at stress, but the axial force in the x-direction. A positive force denotes tension; a negative force denotes compression of the beam.

Why do you want results to be positive? If your only issue is the colors of the contour where the max compression is shown by blue, simply right click on the contour legend and change the color scheme to reverse rainbow.
