Need help with sheet metal behavior

      Hello,

I've countered an issue with a springback simulation in V-die bending . My sheet metal plate is behaving like a cloth sliding down the die by contact of the punch, rather then a plate being bend into a V-shape.

Here's the picture of the issue and my settings. I hope you can help me with this

      Hi,

What are the material properties? Ate you applying displacement boundary conditions? What if you turn off the small sliding.

        Hi,

I was advised to use 2D plane strain in Static Structural. But this issue happened to me:

when it reach the final destination, the sheet metal disappeared. And I also get this message: "Solver pivot warnings or errors have been encountered during the solution. This is usually a result of an ill conditioned matrix possibly due to unreasonable material properties, an under constrained model, or contact related issues. Check results carefully."

How can I resolve this issue? Thank you

      Hi,

It looks that the model is experiencing rigid body motion. Please search YouTube for a video titled 'Static Structural Analysis on V Shape Plate Bending Process in Ansys Workbench'.
