SubscriberHi,
How could i include Thermodynamic data which is in NASA code format in Ansys FLUENT? If it is using thermo.db file available in fluent property database library then where is the option to include the file in Ansys FLUENT software?
please kindly give me some suggestions.

Ansys EmployeeEither you read a CHEMKIN property file (thermo.db whenver you have reactions) or just adjust the material properties within a user-defined material database.

SubscriberThank you Sir for your suggestions. It's great to have an instant response.
In my simulation I have reactions to be included. But i don't have the CHEMKIN file for my reactions i can manual include the reactions in the reaction panel. In that case, whether i can adjust the material property for Cp in user defined material database ?Â
please kindly give me some suggestions.

Ansys EmployeeYes or you can do that or just stick to the default in Fluent. Which components do you have?

SubscriberSir, what do you mean by components here? Are you asking whether I have Cp, enthalpy or entropy.?
Thank you for your reply. -

Ansys EmployeeChemical components. For several components Fluent provides default polynomial. -

SubscriberSir, the chemical components like CO,O,O2 and CO2.Â

SubscriberSir, also i would like to clarify, if i adjust the material property of Cp from NASA polynomial into user defined material database then would i be able to get correct values of standard state of enthalpies and entropies.
Please kindly give me your suggestions.
Thank you

Ansys EmployeeEntropy yes but SS enthalpy is something different: That your input. NASA polynomials are already there for the components you have. Just use piecewise-polynomial.

SubscriberOk Sir....Is there an option to include enthalpy and entropy as piecewise polynomial in Ansys FLUENT?? I couldn't find any option to include enthalpy piecewise polynomial option in Ansys FLUENT ? Please kindly give me few suggestions.

Ansys EmployeeWhy? Entropy is deduced from Cp. Standard state enthalpy can be scripted via scheme but is not relevant as it a standard state enthalpy. -

Ansys EmployeeCheck physical properties and field functions in the users guide. You will then see that its deduced from Cp.
If you want to code your own you need to use UDRGM.
