Multiple velocity profiles on a single inlet

      Hi

I am trying to study the effect of different wind directions on airflow around buildings . I have two major queries:

      A) Is it possible to have multiple velocity profiles on a single inlet as I have multiple profiles for different wind directions? Please note that I am providing profiles through a  UDF. So I basically need to hook different velocities to inlet.

      B) How should I adjust my velocity inlet settings so as to get same velocity profile at different angles? I can input the velocity through UDF. But I want velocity along 30, 45 and 60 degrees along X axis. So how to do that using magnitude and direction option in velocity inlet boundary conditions? Because even if I am changing X component values from say 1 to 0.7, I can see no difference.

      Hello,

Surely, you can have varying velocity profiles which vary with time. But you cannot have different velocity profiles at a same time at a same place.

What is the magnitude of the velocity you apply in BCs? Can you share the screenshot of the BC panel?

Like I said, I have a parabolic profile which is witten in UDF and then hooked in velocity inlet conditions. But I guess you said it right. I can't have multiple profiles at the same time. So maybe I need to run simulations multiple times. Nonetheless, I am attaching screenshot of my BCs .

Basically my magnitude remains same. I just need to change the directions. So I think I need to create n number of case files for n number of directions.
