Suppose I use point mass (at the C.G) instead of some body, now the CG remains same but M.I increases. Is there any way to reduce this moment of inertia and also keep CG same and using point mass?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Deepesh,
You can input moment of inertia values for each direction when defining a Point Mass in Ansys Mechanical Application. This allows you to idealize the inertial effects from a body using a Point Mass, which can affect modal and harmonic solutions. The location of the Point Mass can be anywhere in space and can also be defined in a local coordinate system if one exists.
