Moment Load on Revolute Joint exposes a Mechanical bug

      Hey peter, its your old post offcourse..why we cant apply just "Moment" scoped to Remote point under load tab in Ansys Mechanical instead of "Joint" scoped or not scoped to remote point?

      Is it possible in "Joint" we can apply moment about two axis at the same time?
      One More question, if instead of applying "joint moment" on both ends, applying "joint moment" at one end & "Fixed support scoped to Remote point" at other, will it will produce same correct results like that of former?

      First you would have to change the joint type to one that has two axes because a Revolute joint has only one axis. Try a Universal Joint. Then see if you can apply a Joint Load about two axes. I don't know.
      Alternatively, you can definitely put two Revolute Joints in series and have a dummy body between them.
      Below is an illustration of a beam with one end fixed and the other end with a Revolute Joint plus a Joint Moment and a beam with a Revolute Joint on each end with opposite joint moments applied.
      The deformation along the length is clearly not the same. But as long as the Revolute Joint at each end had the Behavior set to Rigid, then the stress along the length would be the same for small deflections. You have asked this question many times. What did you think the answer was?

      To your question "What did you think the answer was?"......If we take case of cantiliver, we will apply one end.."joint moment" other end "remote displacement with RZ= 0" OR fixed support scoped to Remote point, if we want to see bending along length of hull (in x direction). if i am not interested in physically seeing the bending of my hull structure, than i can let RZ Free on remote displacement.
