SubscriberI am analyzing an electrical machine in 2D and 3D. The Problem is:
"In my 2D execution the energy of the magentic field is calculated similar to my 3D execution with a component length of 1000mm."
I found out, that 1 meter is the default depth of 2D models, but when I change the model depth to, let's say 100mm, Maxwell calculates the same energy of the model in the field calculator.
Here are two pictures showing the 2D Calculation with a model depth of 100mm
and 3D Calculation with an overall length of 1 meter. Is Maxwell not able to convert these calculations depending on the selected model depth? (Magnetostatic Solution)
Thanks in advance

Ansys EmployeeHello Daniel Dunsch,
In 2D Field calculator will calculate for 1m depth (Default) irrespective of model depth in settings. We have to multiply with model depth.

Thank you,Â
