Hello,
I want to make a modal simulation in Ansys Workbench to find the natural frequencies of a plane during the flight. In this condition there is no a displacement restriction so I have several questions about how to perform the modal analysis.
- How can I make the modal analysis in a free flight condition of the plane?
- If I simulate only the wing using fixed displacement on the starting face of the wing profile, is it correct or I should use the whole plane for the modal analysis?
- Should I make all the body fixed except the wing to make the modal analysis? Considering that the wing will be the most critical part of the system
I hope you can give me some tips about that.
Thanks in advance,
Regards.

Hi Marcos,
Please check the below course on 'Modal analysis of wing'. It should help with your doubts related to modeling.

Hello,
Thanks for the reply,
According to the video-course that you sent me, I could simulate only the wing in modal analysis and there are no issues avoiding the modal analysis of the whole plane. My doubt was about the stifness of the system, I was not sure if the behaviour of the modal analysis in the wing would be the same using only the wing and using the whole model.
I wait your comments,
Thanks,
Regards.
