      When we use free-free modal analysis and pre-stressed modal analysis, then how many modes must be extracted to produce the corresponding mode shape? In the mass capital participation factor, is there a total effective mass value that is used as a reference as the actual value of the total mass of the system. If so, how much is it worth?

      Hi Fatur, good question. We can use a ratio of effective mass to total mass value of 0.9. This ensures we extract a sufficient number of modes for our problem.
