SubscriberHello, everyone.
Â
I recently upgraded my ANSYS installation from 2022R2 to 2025R1.03, completely removing the previous version.
So far, Designmodeler, Ansys Meshing, CFX, and CFD-Post are all working well. However, i noticed a strange issue in CFD-POST.
When i open .res file directly through my desktop (Stand-Alone mode) or manually load results in CFD-POST, the 'Mesh Regions' section appears normally in the tree.
But, when i open the same results via Workbench 2025R1, the 'Mesh Regions' section is completely missing.
I have already checked Edit -> Options -> Files -> CFX and confirmed "Don't load mesh regions" is unchecked, so that should not be the issue.
Â
To summarize:
"Mesh Regions appears in Stand-Alone mode or when i manually load the .res file in CFD-POST."
"Mesh Regions doe not appear when opening CFD-POST directly from Workbench."
Â
Is there any way to make Mesh Regions appear automatically when using Workbench 2025R1?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Â
Best regards.

Ansys EmployeeHi,
Maybe you have that option turned OFF.
Open CFD-Post in workbench, go to Edit -> Options -> Files -> CFXÂ
There under Regions sections, you can find the 'Don't Load Mesh Regions' option.ÂCheck if that is activated. Deactivate that option to load the mesh regions

SubscriberThank you for your response to my question.
Â
Just to be sure, i tried both checking and un-checking the 'Don't Load Mesh Regions' option as you suggested.
Unfortunately, there was no change in the behavior even after following your instruction.
Fortunately, i knew alternative ways to access the 'Mesh Regions' section by manually loading the results in CFD-POST, I will use this method for now.
Â
If there are any further suggestions or updates, i would be happy to try them.
Best regards.
