SubscriberCould any one plz guide if i had a super cell contaning 8 elements in a rowmeans in x-dimension only. How could we use that super cell to make a metasurface as with one unit element i know how to make surface but with super cell which contains eight unit lements inside it.How could we build

Ansys EmployeeHi Uzma,
I would like to obtain some more information about your question. For example, why do you need to use the supercell as opposed to the unit cell? Typically, the phase created by each unit cell is used to control light.
Thank you.

Ansys EmployeeHello Uzma,
Thank you for sharing the screenshot. You can use the Structure Group in Lumerical to build a supercell with multiple number of elements. You can refer to the following article for more information and an example:https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034382434-Structure-Groups-Simulation-object
If the arrangement of supercells is periodic and extends infinitely, then you can build one structure group and simulate the single supercell with Bloch/Periodic boundary conditions.
If you want to simulate the entire structure with a definite number of these supercells then you can either create multiple structure groups and position them at the desired location or create nested structure groups.
Please let me know if this wasn’t clear or if you need more information.
Thank you. -
