Meshing issues on bodies separated by a distance but ‘bonded’ contact

      Hi everyone,

I have two bodies separated by a distance, but they are defined as bonded contact. I am trying to mesh them in Mechanical using 'Sweep' method but the mesh on the bottom body looks like in the picture below. I am unable to get all equal Quad mesh on the body. Moreover, the top body doesn't mesh at all. When 'Multizone' method is defind on the top body, then I get th emesh that looks like the below picture on both bodies. I tried all this while keeping Adaptive sizing 'off', but tetrahedral mesh is generated on both the bodies when Adaptive sizing is 'on'. Why so? ALso, I didn't share topology from the spaceclaim. Could it be affecting the mesh this way? If anyone could help me understand what's happening here, that would be great.

      Hey,
Have you checked the geometry once in SpaceClaim or Discovery ? Seems like there could be small features where the local refining is happening. This could also be the reason for mesh generating with Adaptive Sizing - On. You can check for split or extra edges even small faces in SpaceClaim or Discovery and see if anything pops up.
Split Edges Tool / Extra Edges Tool / Small Faces Tool / Checking Geometry
You mention top body does not mesh at all - Is this true for the default meshing without any mesh controls ? If so does it show any error messages ?

      Regards,
