SubscriberWe have been trying to mesh a geometry of a chest aneurysm. This geometry has been created using an actual CT scan of a chest aneurysm. However, when we attempt to import this geometry into ANSYS Meshing, it is unable to attach the geometry. Kindly help on how to proceed. The version of Ansys we are using is Ansys Student 2019 R1. The file in question has been attached herewith. If possible, kindly assist us with the Meshing of the geometry as well.

SubscriberTo use ANSYS Meshing, some work must be done in SpaceClaim to clean up the facet body and convert it to a solid. ANSYS Meshing does not mesh a facet body.
Go to the Facets tab and use the Check Facets button. You can see there are many problems that must be fixed before converting to solid. In the image below, does this represent a fluid volume? Where is the inlet and outlet?
There are some tutorials on how to clean up facet bodies. I used the Separate All to get rid of the multiple pieces.
Auto Fix can repair some of the problems. There are other tools to get this to the point where there are no problems. -

SubscriberThere seems to be a plane with many non-manifold vertices shown in red. Is this a defect in the CT image?
Below is the view from the back. It's like two volumes were merged together.
These problems might be fixed by smoothing the facets, but you have to choose smoothing parameters carefully to preserve the features that are important.
