SubscriberHello,
I was reading several papers related to wind flows around building structures and I found that they presented their meshing techniques (refinement and type) on the surfaces of those building models and grounds as shown in the following figures (coursey of Blocken et al. 2007 and Van Hoof and Blocken 2010 respectively). I'm using Design Modeler, the standard Ansys Mesher, and Fluent. So I would like to know how to visualize the mesh in the manner shown below?
Thank you for your support.
Ahmad

Forum ModeratorYes, it's a good way to display surface mesh, I'd do that sort of image in Fluent. I also suggest using the Section Plane tool (with full cells) in Meshing to view the volume mesh.Â

SubscriberThank you for your reply and I'm very sorry, I realized that my question was not clear (I edited it). I wanted to know how to visualize the mesh in the manner shown in the attached figures (from the papers I've been reading)?.

Forum ModeratorI was wondering! Thanks for clarifying.Â
In Fluent use the mesh display (Post processing tab), and show edges & faces on the faces of interest. You may want to alter some colours and turn lights on (View tab). Do NOT display on surfaces labelled interior, default-interior, fluid or solid (or names like these) as they probably contain all of the facets for the 3d volume and tends to take a long time to render.Â
