Mesh Independence Study

I am doing a multiphase (Condensation) simulation in Fluent and I want to perform mesh independence study on my geometry.

My question is, how should I perform mesh independence study?

1- Checking of Volume fraction convergences is necessary?

2- Or I can avoid excessive computational time by turning off Volume fraction equation and just study Energy and Heat flux convergences in all two / three meshes.?

      Hi,

You should track the convergence of both volume fraction and other key variables (like temperature, pressure, or velocity) for each mesh. The goal is to see minimal changes in these values as you refine the mesh. The volume fraction of phases plays a crucial role in accurately capturing the phase distribution. Without considering the volume fraction, the impact of phase distribution on heat flux might be missed. You should include volume fraction convergence in your mesh independence study

Thank you so much SRP sir.
