Ansys Employeewhy do you want to check mesh element?
you can check quality under domain - mesh - quality
if you want to mark cells with quality, you can create cell register.Â
please check help manual about cell registers.Â

Forum ModeratorThe mesh elements are tetrahedrals, hexahedrals etc. We check quality and cell count (occasionally) but otherwise we don't check the element "types". What exactly did the journal ask for?

SubscriberDear rwoolhou
Yes you are right and i think we can check by considering the shape (visual inspection). Reviewer just ask me "what is CFD mess that i used".Â
I check some manuals and it is showing tetrahedrals and sweep mesh for automatic meshing.
Kindly response.

Forum ModeratorThey may just want a cell count and what types (eg mainly tet mesh with inflation near the walls). You'll need to clarify this with the reviewer.Â

Ansys Employeeyou can display outline and see if surface mesh is tri or quad or poly.Â
if its tri - cells are tet
if its quad - cells are hex or prisms
if its poly - cells are poly.

Ansys Employeeok. this image is from mesh.Â
its all tri mesh. looks like you have all tetrahedral mesh.Â
if you have inflation defined then you may have some prisms.Â
in mesh details, please select orothogonal quality in mesh quality option. it will display histogram and will give more information about mesh.Â

Subscriberhi , i am unable to perform edge sizing .
Â
it simply creates the nodes at edges but doesnt form elements.
i had done edge sizing before for various other geometries. but now, even for simple rectangle, it doesnt work. what would be the problem?
i had attached the zoomed image where u can see nodes created on the edges but it did not create respective mesh elements. can someone help me out please?
