SubscriberHi, im relatively new to Ansys and im looking to do a mesh convergence and then a mesh independence study on a exhaust manifold with 4 inlets and 1 outlet using the student licence.Â
The pipe diameter is 42mm and total span of 0.6m. Im looking to refine the mesh for the maximum pressure (inlet furthest away from outlet) and maximum velocity (outlet). At the minute i am using a sphere of influence at both points and a default mesh elsewhere, refining the spheres of influence doesnt get me convergence before i run out of cells in the student license.Â
If anyone could give me some advice on what im doing wrong or other ways to perform the mesh convergence it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers James.Â
I tried uploading images of the model and mesh but doesnt seem to like that at the minute.Â

Forum ModeratorI'd look at a more uniform mesh to get some idea of the flow field and then worry about refinement. With experience you can skip that step, but if you're relatively new to Fluent I'd suggest running an extra few models.Â
