SubscriberHello everyone,
I'm having trouble with the ansys mechanical built in fatigue tool.
My static structural simulation to use to perform the fatigue analysis presents some numerical singularity making the equivalent stresses reach high values in some small zones.
My idea was to write a MAPDL code that rrecognises the values over a certain tress that are effected by the singularity and overwrites the solution in the database with realistic values resulting from a linear interpolation of the resulting stresses in the zones wich do not present this singularity.
The problem is:
the code works fine, and it assigns the correct values to the critical nodes, but now I need to display the udated results in the ansys mechanical tree and launche the fatigue analysis with the updated data and I don't know how to do that specifically.
Is there a MAPDL command that updates the results shown in the tree or is there a way to export the updated stress results and use them to perform a fatigue analysis in a separate workbench analisys?
Thanks to anyone who will reply -

Ansys EmployeeHi
Think it is much better to address the singularities (see here for a description: http://www.acin.net/2015/06/02/stress-singularities-stress-concentrations-and-mesh-convergence/). Also we can exclude them (if they do not have any importance to calc.), from the Mechanical results (scope results to relevant parts and areas only).
All the best
Erik
