Lumerical support registration instructions

    • Chris Kopetski
      Ansys Employee

Lumerical support registration is a simple process that allows Lumerical users to access commercial technical support and some technical resources such as Application Gallery files.

NOTE: Technical support for commercial customers is provided via Lumerical support, not the Ansys customer portal. Support is valid for the duration of your license/subscription. Once the license expires, you will have to register for support with your current license. A Lumerical user account and an active Ansys Lumerical license is required to register for support.

Please see this guide in the Lumerical Knowledge Base (KB) for details.

      Hi,

my customer number is XX39XXX and I'm trying to get access to the CML documentation and download some examples. But when I logged on to the Lumerical website, this message appeared:

      Somebody could help me?

      adophobr,

Our records shows that you are not currently registered with Lumerical support. Kindly register with Lumerical support as shown above from the "About Page", while accessing your current/active license. Then download the examples from the Application Gallery (Apps).

      Best,

      Lito

      Hi Lito,

you're right. I'm not currently registered with Lumerical support, because every time that I tried to register with Lumerical support as shown, I got the same problem show in the figure on the my last post. The are four figures bellow that show my steps.

Using the Lumerical Launcher, I got the same problem: "We are sorry, but it appears that the support code "XX39XXX" is not valid or there was a problem retrieving your support information. Please double check that the code is correct and if the problem persists, please contact your account manager or email lumerical.registration@ansys.com for more information."

      Dear Lumerical Support Team,

      Greetings

I am Adnan, Masters student at Scoula Superiore Sant'Anna. I am using Lumerical to simulate some part of my masters thesis. I am using a components from Extruded Polygons and particularly isosceles Trapizoid. I am rotating it's first axis along y axis by 90 degree and second axis along z axis. I am intersted that the trapizod lx top and lx base should increase along the z axis like taper for example at start the lx base is 0.48 and lx top is 0.40, but it should gradually increase untill 10um in z axis and ends up with 1.5um top base and 1.40um. I am not able to do it, so I need your help to figure out how we can acheieve this in Lumerical.

Looking forward to hear from you

      Thank you

      Best Regards,

      Adnan

Hi I am Cheng who is a UChicago student. Recently I am running a 1D nanobeam cavity simulation. However, after I ran it a few times, I found the signal always has some divergences as time evolves. Sometimes it leads to a warning but sometimes it just bumps up a little, but overall either one does not make any physical sense. Could you please help me take a look at it, to see if I made something wrong with the simulation setup? Best Cheng

      Dear Lumerical Support Team,

I need to define a material in Lumerical using the Double Debye model as shown below:

However, I can see the following Debye model available in the materials tab:

Is it possible to create a Double Debye Model in Lumerical? Can you please assist?

      Thank you!

We have 5 licenses for Lumerical at our institute (TU Braunschweig) until Dec 2023. I wanted to know the process of opening a ticket and asking for support.

      Kind regards,

Hi, I am writing to inquiring about the effective mode dimension of wavguide in FDE software. We can directly get the effective mode area information in FDE. But how to get the effective mode dimensions in x and y axis for strip waveguide? Thanks!
