July 8, 2024 at 6:40 pmGrant JamesSubscriberHello,I’m learning how to use LS-OPT and trying to go through the tutorials, but I’m having a problem with this error that states, “License error: ansys license manager error. Error: could not find any valid license feature for checkout. Please check your licensing.” This is quite strange to me as I am currently using LS-DYNA and running simulations on our license with no problem. Moreover, on the LS Website it states that, "LS-PrePost, LS-OPT, and LS-TaSC do not require runtime licenses for use by LST customers. All LST customers may download, install, and run these programs without charge. No license key is required. These products are actively developed and maintained by LSTC.”Is anyone able to help me out with this, or know what may be causing this?Thank you in advance!Grant.

July 9, 2024 at 2:38 pmigandikoAnsys EmployeeNewer versions of LS-OPT (v2022R1 and up) require a standalone license to run. This license is not related to LS-DYNA. You should be able to run LS-OPT 2022R1 and newer versions, if your Ansys license file (ansyslmd.lic) has optislang_level1 (or _leve2, _level3) increment. The last free version for LS-DYNA customers was v7.0.2.

Thank you for this. Is there any way I can download v7.0.2 still then? It shows as an option on the download page, however, when I click it this message pops up:
We will update info here soon. Please contact Ansys customer support for any question.

if you have access to support, could you please create a support case? If you are affiliated to a university, please email lstsupport@ansys.com with your university email address. I may have to check internally before sharing the old version. Even if we can share the builds, I will not be able to share the link here so please create a support case or send us an email. Thank you.
