LS-DYNA Umat and new Fortran compiler

      Hello,

I’m working on a project that uses the user-defined materials feature in LS-DYNA. I’ve been following the online guidelines, but recently Intel updated their Fortran compiler to the ifx compiler and no longer supports ifort.

As a result, I can’t run the nmake command because ifort is no longer available. I’m wondering if LS-DYNA will be updated to support ifx, or if there’s another solution to this issue.

      Thank you!

      Hi,

That is true. We are going to adjust our UMAT packages to the new Fortran compiler soon. In the meantime, you can still use the available UMAT packages by either using an older Intel Fortan Compiler or by editing the “makefile” in the UMAT packages as per instructions below:

1- Open the “makefile” file in the UMAT package in a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++.

2- Change the mention of “ifort” in front of the parameter FC to “ifx” (please see the image below).

3- Save the file and start compiling.

      I hope this informtion helps.

      Thanks,

      Pedram
