SubscriberHello, does LS-Dyna have a material model that can handle orthotropic material that's also viscoelastic in each of the 3 ortrhogonal directions.Â
basically, is it possible to define prony series terms for each of the 3 axis of an orthotropic material model? If this isn't possible, is there a material model that can do this?Â
this is not a duplicate from the one in Ansys Mechanical section, I am looking at both solvers.Â

Ansys EmployeeHi Dennis Chen,
There is a MAT_213 COMPOSITE_TABULATED_PLASTICITY_DAMAGE material model that supports viscoelastic behavior in all three axes. Please refer to Card 9 of this material model for details regarding the viscoelastic formulation. For a deeper theoretical understanding, you may also consult the following resource: https://lsdyna.ansys.com/wp-content/uploads/attachments/t5-2-c-composites-131.pdf. Additionally, it would be helpful if you could provide the commercial or trade name of the material in question to offer more precise recommendations.
Best regards,

SubscriberRam, thank you.  do you know if Ansys Mechanical/APDL have something similar to Mat_213? I will make sure to look into this.  Thank you.
I won't risk mentioning work related stuff on these forum posts but I really appreciate your info
