I want to define a contact between beam and solid? what is the best option. Also, if I want to tie them, what option works best.Â

Also, in case of using a constraint that takes only one nodes set, if the nodes are from different parts, what is the master node that other nodes follow?Â

Defining a contact between a beam and a solid in Ansys LS-DYNA can be done using several methods, but the best option often depends on the specifics of your simulation. For a bonded contact, you might consider using a *CONTACT_TIED_SURFACE_TO_SURFACE approach, which is constraint-based and ensures that slave nodes will be projected to the master surface during initialization.
If you’re looking to tie a beam to a solid, the *CONSTRAINED_INTERPOLATION method (RBE3 in LS-DYNA) is recommended. This method is suitable for connections where you want to transfer moments, shears, and rotations at the interface.
Regarding constraints that involve only one node set from different parts, the master node is typically the one that other nodes will follow. In LS-DYNA, when you define a *CONSTRAINED_NODE_SET, you specify the master node, and the slave nodes in the set will follow the displacements of this master node. It’s important to ensure that the master node is chosen correctly to represent the behavior you want to simulate.
