Are there different types of LS DYNA licenses required for running the MPP solver as opposed to the SMP solver?Â

November 16, 2023 at 5:36 pmigandikoAnsys EmployeeYes, the license file may need different increments (ansys license) or options (old lstc license) to run smp vs. mpp.

In LSTC license, you need "MPPDYNA" and "LS-DYNA" options.Â
In Ansys license (at least for commecial license), you need "dyna" and "dysmp". I have minimal knowledge of Ansys license but I just did a test run on my machine. For an MPP job with 4 cores, 1 "dyna" and 3 "dynsmp" were checked out.Â

Thanks for the reply! Which increments and/or options are required to run mpp in LS-DYNA?
