Long holes and screw contact settings

      Hi all,

I am trying to do some structural simulation of a assembly where I have some long holes and screw joint. As this is structural simulation with thermal load ,I need this long hole for thermal expansion.

what would be best best contact between the screw and the long hole.

      The marked region

I tried it without any contact but didn't work.

Thanks in advance for your help.

      Regards

      Richard

      Hello Richard,

I don't understand clearly how the screw and the hole interact. If relative motion is expected to occur between them, then frictional contact is advisable. If there is no relative movement between them (and none is expected during the simulation), then a bonded contact can be used.

      Hope this helps,

      Sai
