Hi, I want to simulate tensile tests of specimens subjected to laser texturing patterns (like dimples or linear grooves on the surface through laser). I don't know how to perform laser surface texturing in Ansys. Any help in this regard will be much appreciated, please.
Thanks

Hi Ad,
If I am assuming correctly, you want to analyse the specimen which has grooves /geometrical depressions due to laser process. If correct, you can just cretae a geometry with such grooves/depressions and simulate it in Mechanical. You can use Spaceclaim/Discovery to create such geometry. Following post has one example of embossing. Similar method can be followed to create grooves
