Knee joint – Problems with geometry

Hello Jonas I have a video for converting STL to Geometry in this discussion: /forum/discussion/29718/convert-stl-of-knee-joint-to-geometry
ANSYS Mechanical has the ability to apply a Coating to a solid body. The coating automatically creates shell elements on the surface of the solid body that can have completely different properties to the material assigned to the solid. You type in the thickness of the coating. Have you looked at that capability?

Thank you for answering! The surface coating approach surely seems like a better choice than modelling the shell and infill as two separate parts.
When I use the auto-skin feature in SpaceClaim (following your stl to geometry video), the patella won't get completely patched/enclosed. A small area on the posterior surface is not patched. The facet body does not seem to have any openings. Any tips on how to solve this?

The shrink wrap feature under the facets tap seems to solve the issue.
After shrink-wrapping the patella, the auto-skin feature works fine!

Glad you fixed that. Here is a video for how to fix a problem similar to what you had.
