Issues with Simultaneous Meshing of Surfaces and Solid Model in ACP Pre and Mech

      Hello,

I intended to model my geometry using ACP Pre because I needed to apply fiber orientation. I extracted five different surfaces from this geometry to apply shell elements and use them as surfaces in ACP Pre. My goal was to use layup mapping to create both the surface and solid model simultaneously. I have attached the geometry here. However, when I attempted to mesh both the surfaces and solid model simultaneously in Mechanical Model, it didn't work. Can you please help me understand what might be causing this issue? Could it be related to using the surface within the solid model?

      Hello,

      Thank you for your help.

I encountered another issue. I attempted to use lay-up mapping and imported the solid model into ACP Pre, but it didn't work as intended. ACP Pre couldn't apply the different layers to the solid shape. I have attached the picture properties of the imported solid model in ACP. Please let me know if I made any mistakes during the solid model import.

      Hello Mahzad,

Do you get any error or warning messages?

Did you build the composite layup on a surface first? Then, tried to map the composite layup on the solid model?

      Have followed the procedure here:

      https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v232/en/acp_ug/acp_ex_mapped_composite_solid.html

I recommend you try to apply the procedure on a simple model first and then move on to a more complicated  model.

Let me know how it goes.

      Reno.

      Hi,

No, I didn't get any error or warning.

Yes, I built the composite layup on a surface and then mapped the layup on a solid model. I also tried on a simplified model, but It didn't work as well and It couldn't create the layup on a solid model.

Sorry, I cannot open this link.
