      Hello,

I am very new to the Ansys fluent, I am following a tutorial direction to simulate solid particles flow ( Discrete phase) with air flow ( continuous phase), I am using the default parallel one processor in the calculation and takes me about 4 hrs to complete the calculation.

number of time steps: 6000   time step : 0.01   iteration 20

please help me to figure this out starting with the very basics stuf since i am very new to it.

      Thanks,

How many cores does your computer have?

You may also want to check RAM usage, the solver tends to slow down if you're paging to disc. I'd be surprised if that's the case, but it'll depend on how new your PC is.

Thank you guys for the quick replies and my computer has 10 cores and 12 logical processors, and my PC is very new with a 1TB SSD and 16 RAM, but i don't know what do you mean by paging to disc can you please let me know how to fix that if that is the case.

      Thanks

Paging to disc is when the solver runs out of RAM and starts using disc cache. It used to be obvious as the discs made a noise. With 16GB RAM you should be OK with 5-8M cells.
