SubscriberHi everyone,
I'm experiencing an issue with the FDE tool in Lumerical when trying to calculate guided modes for my structure. The software fails to calculate the guided modes properly, and I receive an error. Despite trying several approaches, the problem persists:
Here are the key points of the issue:
- Meshing Issue: The tool seems to require specific meshing of the structure to compute the guided modes accurately.
- Sweep Optimization Tool Failure: This issue causes additional problems when using the sweep optimization tool within FDE. The sweep calculates automatically, and when this error occurs, the optimization process returns incorrect results.
Could you please guide me to solve this problem?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Taynara

Ansys EmployeeHello Taynara,Â
Please provide some more information so that I can recreate your simulation file.Â
What structure you are simulating?
Thanks and regards
