Is this how to set-up an additive DED process simulation?

Hello, nfor a course project, I'm trying to simulate a direct energy depostition (DED) additive manufacturing process with Ansys 2019 R3 Student.nAs of now, I'm using a Transient Thermal with module an APDL script that generates a moving heat source along a path, a modified version of this Moving Heat Source ACT, paired with a Static Structural.nI'm working on creating the elements progressively while the heat source pass on it, in order to see the stresses/deformations in the piece and the substrate.nThe piece is for now a simple single track, 1mm wide and 0.125mm tall, but the idea is to generalize the script for an arbitrary mesh.nnIs this the correct way of doing it or there are other better alteratives?nAny input is appreciated, thank you.n
