is there any way to accelerate the manipulation in ICEM CFD ?

      Hello everyone!

      I want to use ICEM CFD to generate a structural mesh of my geometry. However, ICEM is very slow I can't work with it! I can't even move my geometry. Is there any way to solve this problem?

      Thanks in advance.

      Regards.

      Why do you want to use ICEM CFD if it is very slow? You say you want a structural mesh, have you tried a Mechanical Model component for meshing? This is the same software as the Mesh component used to generate a mesh for Fluent.

      Thank you for the reply!
      I actually failed to mesh my geometry using Mechanical, I am about to mesh A bend pipe with a rib in the extrados of the bend. I tried the multizone method, I split my geometry into several parts but nothing is worked so I decided to use the icem maybe it will generate the hexahedral mesh. Unfortunately, Icem refuses to work correctly for me!
      here is my geometry:

      If you put this geometry into a Geometry cell in Workbench, use the File Archive to make a .wbpz file and attach that to your reply and say what version of ANSYS you are using. I will give it a try.

      Sorry for the late reply! please find attached the geometry. I am using Ansys 2019 R1.
      Thank you!

      I used a newer version of ANSYS which means you can't open the file I created, but you can repeat the slicing I did. I sliced the entire tube at the diameter of the cut and sliced it at the cut edges.
      I can show you how I did this in SpaceClaim if you want to schedule time for a video chat.

      @peteroznewman Thank you so much!
      "I can show you how I did this in SpaceClaim if you want to schedule time for a video chat." yes, could you please send me a private message to schedule the time? and could you please tell me which version of Ansys you used?
      I tried to do the same slice in the design modeler when slicing at the diameter of the cut and at the edges of the rib I got those surfaces!

      here is the generated bodies:
      the mesh failed to generate the structured mesh. I think the surfaces generated are the source of this bad mesh.

      I used ANSYS 2022 R1 to do the slicing in SpaceClaim, but it should work the same way in 2019 R1.
