SubscriberI am currently working on an axial turbine simulation in Ansys Fluent and attempting to compare results between the pressure-based and density-based solvers.
Using the pressure-based solver, the case runs smoothly and converges without issue. However, when I switch to the density-based solver using the same case setup, the solution consistently diverges during the solve process.
Is there a known limitation or recommended approach when using the density-based solver for turbomachinery applications such as axial turbines? Could you advise whether Fluent supports density-based solver for this type of simulation, and if so, what adjustments might be necessary to ensure stability?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Ansys EmployeeHello,
Do you have any high pressure regions in your domain to use the density based solver? May I know the specific reason for switching to DBNS?
Thank you.
