I'm unable to view internal meshes in fluent. I'm able to see a "interior-solid" section under zones in Boundary Conditions but I'm unable to view it. Assuming that the interior exists, I've moved on to the computation. And after solving I'm not able to plot any contours on the interior of the body.
Tried to export the results on CFD post but still unable to obtain interior values
Referring a previous similar post, tried to force my discrete GPU to be used in fluent, but no difference
NB: I'm a beginner to Ansys. The issue might be a simple mistake on my side. Thanks in advance
January 19, 2022 at 11:30 amRobForum ModeratorThat's a good thing. The solid interior (fluid, but we let the Mech team label everything...) contains every facet in that region. For a 500k cell mesh that's potentially millions of facets: with a 10M cell case it'll crash the graphics. To view results inside the domain create planes or (my preference) iso-surfaces of mesh (eg x=0) and then plot the variables on that.
The tutorials will take you through this and you can get to these by clicking on Help.

Yes indeed it was possible for me to create planes and visualise the results. I could also create multiple planes which when stacked over one another gives an approximation of the 3d interior. But earlier in an analysis that I've done I was able to visualise all the interior meshing as such Hence I was able to obtain a 3d contour with ease. I could even have a 3d animation. This model shown above had almost 200k cells whereas the one with which I had the issue had only 18k cells. I don't exactly recall what I did last time to get it to display the meshing. How do I do that ?
January 19, 2022 at 1:31 pmRobForum ModeratorWhy do you want to try and display like that? At best it's a mess and at worst it'll kill the graphics card.

January 24, 2022 at 3:50 pmRobForum ModeratorThat's why we create iso-surfaces or planes. These are at selected positions in the model and we combine these with pathlines etc to understand the flow. Plotting on all of the internal facets just produces a mess - you can't see inside properly and can't identify flow features.
