Hello, since I had problems with the 2022R2 Version i wanted to update to 2023.

Because the Uninstall.exe didnt worked, I just deleted everything ansys related in my folders (Found this way in a forum).

Now the setup.exe is not starting up, it is just loading for a second and then nothing happens. Not even the setup.exe form the 2022r2 version is doing anything. I already checked the state of the windows installer. Setup.exe from other programs are working and starting normally. 

Does anyone experienced something like that?

Please make sure the package is not corrupted. If you're in doubt, you can download it again and extract it using 7Zip. Try running the setup.exe as administrator to see if that helps.

Are there any AntiVirus programs running on your machine? You can try disabling them and rerunning the setup.exe as administrator.

Thanks for your reply.

I retried with a fresh downloaded package and started every try as administrator. I also tried it with another programm to unzip it. 

Antivirus is just the Windows one, but it also doesnt work with disabling them.

Are you trying setup.exe from the extracted files? Ie download, unzip and launch? Trying to run setup.exe from within the archive tends not to work.

Yes, of course. As i mentioned, i already tried to use an other program to extract the .zip

The Installation of the newest version should overide any old versions, or at least that is how I understand it.

I had some difficulties with the installation as well and found that deleting all folders labaled v201 (or something similar) under the Ansys student programme files, and then running the setup.exe as administrator solved my issues.

NOTE: Easily access your program files by holding the Windows button and pressing R. Enter "%appdata%" into text box (no quotation marks). Click OK. Click on ANSYS folder.

when you run the setup.exe as administrator and it fails, go to START > Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application logs.

Check for the most recent Application Errors that were recorded during the time of setup execution. If there are any, can you post the screenshot or error you are seeing?

I already deleted all old versions and data from ansys.

There are no errors or warnings turning up before, while or after the setup execution.
