Initial_Contact_Wear not writing into Dynain file

Hello, I want to post a few cards I am currently using and ask why initial_contact_wear is not being written out into the dynain file.    Can anyone figure out why initial_contact_wear isn't writing out as intended?  I suspect my interface_springback_lsdyna card may be the culprit but I also tried leaving everything except for NCYC blank and it still won't do anything.    I tried removing my control cards entirely as well, also didn't have an effect.

I welcome any feedback here.  Thank you

      Hi Dennis,

I saw your video on another platform as Part 1, the model wear.

Try setting  *INTIAL_CONTACT_WEAR Card to this CID 103, also try setting both SPR and MPR to 2

Workbench may not have the capability to post-process the wear results, so you need to use LS-Prepost Application->Wear, which requires reading in the original keyword file and
then import the dynain file, which contains the wear distance, directions, and NCYC (*INITIAL_CONTACT_WEAR). The result can be fringe-plotted. Wear deformation can also be previewed.

      Cheers, Ram

Hi Ram, I don't know why it was using CID 100 when it should be 103, I will correct that but I promise one of my old runs was using the right contact ID.

I also postprocess inside LSPP using the wear tool but the initial_contact_wear card is not being generated which means the wear tool is giving me nothing.   Do I need to generate it myself inside the dynain file?  the doc says it's autogenerated, is that correct?

I will do a re-run of this tonight and maybe try generating it myself?  Is there any reason it's not generated?

      Hi Dennis,

In *CONTACT_ADD_WEAR, the referred CID is 100 and the Contact Automatic card which has been posted has CID 103. Can you confirm the CID referred and let us know how it goes.

      Regards,

      Vijay

Below is all the updated cards.   I built a super simple model with a small block sliding on a large block after a pressure is applied from the small block onto the large block.    the dynain file has no initial_contact_wear file.   s=intfor was used obviously in the command line.

the full k file is here - https://limewire.com/d/9lVTN#zyGerH0rP4.   In case you can't download, below is screenshot of key cards.  I can see in both the documentation and in a paper in dynamore's site from 2016 that this is the right thing to do but I am just not getting the initial_contact_wear card...

Appreciate you all's input on what happened.   feel free to test this out and let me know if it's something wrong on my end.

segment 99 is the body of the large block...I also tried setting everything to default, also no intial_contact_wear in dynain file.
