I have three materials: one is composite, and the other two are elastic materials. This is the brazing joint process. I have simulated the thermal residual stress. Now I want to do lap shear stress. During the experiment, it was found that the joint behaves as a hyper elastic material after the thermal process. I have defined the joint part as a hyper elastic material (Ogden model). I want to impose the initial thermal residual stress on the material. For that purpose, I am using inistate write and read command, but simulation is not running because it gives an error of a nonlinear unconverging solution.

      Thank You

      Hi Aniket,

Can you please share snapshots of the model details like - geometry, material properties, loading, boundary conditions etc? Also, can you please share the snapshots of solver output as well?

      Regards,

      Ashish Khemka

Is any body have any idea how to solve, becauze even i am taking deform body of thermal analysis by connecting the solution of thermal analysis with model of new static structural analysis its giving The solver engine was unable to converge on a solution forthe nonlinear problem as constrained. Please see the Troubleshooting section of the Help System for more information.

      Regard,

      Hi,

Please see if the following post helps:

The solver engine was unable to converge on a solution for the nonlinear problem (ansys.com)

Sharing the snapshots of the setup will help forum members to comment more.

Yes, the bottom part is fixed, and for the load, I am using a displacement of 0.5 mm/min. And also, I have tried all the things that are given in the above link to converge the solution, but still it is giving the same error. I have also tried increasing the number of steps and step size, as well as the contact stiffness, pinball radius option, and nonlinear mesh adaptivity, but it is giving an unconvergence error.
