Hi everyone
I invstigate how soil media reacts on blast. In this problem I use Lagrange approach.
First, I try used MAT_SOIL_AND_FOAM. In this way soil tensile but doesn't erode. After that, I tried MAT_FHWA_SOIL and again I didn't have result which I expect.
I need to soil erode and flew away in different side after blast. What I need to do and what material model use. I think about SPH mesh.
Could you please give me some advise how can I solve this problem.

Hi, the soil element becomes distorted when subjected to an explosion, thus the calculation will be unstable, especially for the LAG method. We can assign the soil as multi-materials ALE and set the ELFORM of *SECTION_SOLID to 11. If you still have a problem, feel free to contact me.
By the way, the parameters of soil can be found on the LSTC website.

Thanks for your answer. Sound like a good idea.
Can you give link on page with soil parameters?

Thanks again! This article look interesting, especially for geotechnical engineer.
