SubscriberHello,
I wanted to know is it possible to import a .k file in workbench ls dyna and also can we import lstc models into workbench ls dyna. The thing is i wanted to understand the difference between LSTC Ls Dyna and Ansys Ls Dyna.
If a person get Ansys Ls Dyna (Workbench Ls Dyna) wheather he will be able to use lstc models or not? and also if anyone can state the difference between LSTC LsDyna and Ansys LsDyna.
Â
Thanks and Regards,

In terms of the solver, there is no difference between LSTC LS-DYNA and Ansys LS-DYNA. It is possible WB may not support or provide an interface for all the cards for input preparation, in which case, you can manually add the missing cards using a keyword snippet. You can import a .k file in WB, however, depending on the version, not all cards may get imported successfully. You can check the import summary for missing cards and add them manually. Note that if you have existing LSTC model and you simply want to run it, you can do that using LS-RUN (interface to call the solver and execute the run). LS-PrePost can also be used for pre/post processing.Â

Ansys EmployeeYou should be able to import them, please check import summary for missing cards. Note that the dummy models may have some additional commands at the end of the file (after *END) which is used by LS-PrePost dummy positioning tool. You will not have this functionality in WB.Â
