November 6, 2017 at 9:28 pmdanielarevaloc95 SubscriberHi guys,

I have a problem. I am trying to optimize a complex parametric design in Ansys workbench 18.1 from an Inventor file. I have been able to import the document but not the parameters. I have tried with several different extension and file types such as .stp .sat .x_b .igs but neither of those let me use the parameters. I have used the DS and ANS letters in inventor but not working. Do you know any solution for this? I would be very glad if anyone can help me.

 Thanks in advance.

 Regards.

November 7, 2017 at 3:50 ampeteroznewman SubscriberHi Daniel,
I am familiar with the NX CAD plugin for ANSYS, which requires a license to enable direct communication between NX and Mechanical and includes the ability to import NX parameters into the Mechanical environment for exercising the shape by pulling new geometry from NX into Mechanical.
Do you have the AutoCAD plugin ANSYS license? If you don't you can't drive parameters from Inventor into Mechanical. The work around is to bring the geometry into SpaceClaim one-time and add parameters there. If you do have the AutoCAD plugin license, you need to be using AutoCAD 2017 or later.

 Cheers.
