Ansys EmployeeHello Hala Mohammad,
From my understanding, there is no direct method to export geometry from FDTD to MATLAB.
A possible work around is using script to obtain and export the data for your structure (e.g. radiuses) and utilize this information for recreating your structure. For example you can use the get command to obtain the value of an attribute for your object (and use ?get(“object”) to get the list of properties for the object). If you decide that this might be a useful approach, Scripting basics and S100 course might be helpful.
You can submit a request for the addition of 3D export on our Ideas Exchange portal, where it will be reviewed by our product managers and it might be implemented in the future releases of our software.
You have the option to export gometry into GDS from FDTD: GDSII Export Automation – Ansys Optics.
Unfortunately, you cannot directly export 3D geometry.
Hope this helps.
Thanks and regards
Devika
