Impactor Sliding Through Target Body

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on an explicit dynamics simulation in ANSYS, where an impactor is supposed to strike a target body. However, I am facing an issue where the impactor is sliding through the target without making an actual impact.

Instead of deforming upon impact, the impactor appears to pass through the target as if no collision is occurring. The deformation plot does not show expected stress distribution or energy absorption at the contact interface.

 

 

I would appreciate any insights from those who have tackled similar issues. Thanks in advance for your help!

Can you please provide some gap between the Target body and the Impactor and try it?

I hope you are using body interaction with all bodies as geometric scoping or these two bodies.
