I have a model that simulates impact on railroad bridges in transient structural. I'd like to simulate for about 6s but currently this takes a lot of hours to complete. I do not have access to the supported gpu types but will like to reduce my simulation time as I plan to simulate about 500 - 1000 cases. I am currently trying to simulate only the collision period (like 0.03s) and then input the time history of the impact force to a new model to get the full 6s response. But i do not get the same results as simulating the collision. Any suggestions on how best to reduce my simulation time?

Hi,
Please see if the following link helps you: How can I make my transient simulation faster? (ansys.com)

I'm using a non linear model and turning off the strain computing doesn't seem to make a significant difference.
