Hi All,
I have tried every mesh method and cannot get an even hexahedral mesh. In the i have already simplified my assembly so much and it still will not mesh properly.
With the Multizone i shouldn't have to split the bodies myself to create sweepable geometry. However even if i do split them i will still get either errors or an overcomplicated tet mesh.
Any help would be appreciated.

Cut all parts with all surfaces and planes. You will end up with only 4-face rings and 3-face cylinders. At that point, go into Workbench and click the Share button so that all the bodies will have congruent meshes. Since every body is sweepable, you will get a hex mesh.nAugust 11, 2020 at 11:05 amAshish KhemkaForum ModeratornnCan you please try changing the Src/Trg Selection to Manual and then specifying the source and target faces? Also, please check you do not have any sliver faces.nnRegards,nAshish KhemkanAugust 11, 2020 at 11:43 amrfkgSubscriberHinthanks for the reply. I have sliver faces because i imprinted the solid on each other in the hopes of forcing a better mesh. Since this wasn't working i used virtual topology to join tangent faces and removed all slivers. I will try the manual src/trg thanks.nthanks for the reply. What do you mean make a component for each part? I am not familiar with the difference between the two. I spaceclaim i split each sweepable body to make it simple for multizone so my tree looks like thisnwhen shown in mechanical it looks like this, which is a bit odd sine as you can see the two bodies that constitute the window havent been grouped.nbut as you can see i only have 4 face ring and 3 face cylinders already. no slivers. cannot wrap my head around how such a simple geometry is not generating a full hex mesh.nI cannot find how to share in workbench. do you mean create a shared topology in spaceclaim?nRegards,nRafiknAugust 11, 2020 at 11:55 ampeteroznewmanSubscriberI see you already have three components in SpaceClaim: Window, Spacer and Frame. That is three parts, but I see six parts in the section below.nYes, shared topology in SpaceClaim is done by using the Share button in the Workbench tab. Below I show three orange lines that represent cylindrical surfaces that would cut those bodies into simple sweepable bodies with congruent meshes where they touch.nnViewing 4 reply threads- The topic ‘I have a very simple geometry but ansys won’t make an even hexahedral mesh’ is closed to new replies.
